Yesterday, we returned from a 10 day trip thru Algonquin Park’s west side. This had to be one of the most solitude filled trips we have had into Algonquin Park’s interior in the last few years. To top off the solitude factor, the weather and wildlife factors made our trip a very enjoyable one. […]

Returning yesterday from a 3 night stay on Lake Traverse, I have to say that I had a thoroughly satisfying stay in the park this past long weekend. Summer finally arrived as we had no rain the entire weekend. Okay so we had 36 raindrops total. Yes I counted them! The weather was warm, reaching […]

On Saturday July 25th, I was invited by my friend Sean, to come up with his kids and spend the day at Algonquin Park, the event was “Loggers Day”, exploring and learning about the rich history of logging in Algonquin Park. I have never before visited the “Logging Museum” or went to the Loggers Day […]

Last week I took a four day trip to Shirley Lake in what can be described as a duo-solo trip. My friend and fellow Algonquin Park enthusiast Sean Rowley & I, headed into Shirley Lake for 3 nights, paddling solo, but side by side and camping together.

Where’s the heat? I returned a few days ago, from a ten day trip with my girlfriend, in Algonquin’s north end. Although the bugs were bad at times, we didn’t let it deter our enjoyment of The Park. However we kept wondering, where the heat was. I thas been so wet this year, followed by […]

June 29th I returned from The Park, from a ten day semi-solo trip in Algonquin Park’s north end. This is by far my favorite section of The Park. It is vast and I still have many, many areas of that section to explore. I had been warned online by folks connected to the net near […]

Yesterday, I returned from a 10 day trip into Algonquin Park’s north end. The North end is my favourite area of The Park, however I was about to experience a section of that area, that I had never been to before. Many pleasant surprises were in store for me and my friend Mike B. What was […]

Last weekend, I was at Rock Lake(In Algonquin Park of course). I had the opportunity, to meet up with some friends both new and old, who share a love of Algonquin Park. Bo Knows and Sheila, were there, and if you take a peek at the photos or slideshow section, you’ll see the mess of Brook Trout […]

I stopped in at the Wolf Den, for a quick two night stay. This provided me an affordable opportunity to visit The Park. I arrived late in the day, around 3pm, with only about an hour till sunset, there wasn’t enough time to safely traverse any trail.
