Keeping markinthepark.com readers up to date

Having visited family, now 2 hrs away from where I live, and a stopover at the Wolf Den and Algonquin Park for a couple of Nights, I’ve not had a chance till now, to wish my Algonquin friends a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Hope you’ve all had a great one, and have […]

I stopped in at the Wolf Den, for a quick two night stay. This provided me an affordable opportunity to visit The Park. I arrived late in the day, around 3pm, with only about an hour till sunset, there wasn’t enough time to safely traverse any trail.

Over at Jim Cavers blog, is a recent article he has posted by Carol Bower that was recently found on Paddling Canada. The article deals with Food Barrels and avoiding back pain. None of us are getting any older, and if you’ve experienced injuries in the bush, then you know it is not a laughing matter, but can be a serious one, even […]

I noticed a few days ago, while surfing through the Official Algonquin Park website, a new favicon. What’s got me worried is, for the life of me I can’t remember what the old one was! Personally, I don’t like the new one, I don’t think it represents anything “out-doorsy” like. Illness(fully recovered now), pace of work(Xmas rush), and coming home exhausted and suffering from writer’s block. […]

Heads up..Triplog#8 Cedar Lake, will be posted sometime early this evening.

Yeah I know, I keep procrastinating. I’ve been so busy, with work, illness, meetings, etc..however I did manage to get alot done yesterday.  ”Triplog#8. Access#27 Cedar Lake - May 12th-16th, 2004 - 5 Days” WILL BE POSTED on Friday December 14th, 2007

Dropping in on a long time friend of mine yesterday for a short visit, a box was pulled out and presented to me. To my amazement, the box’s contents were of boyhood dreams and hobbies. How my friend came to be in possession of the box, even he doesn’t know, but it was discovered recently while moving.

Whew! Christmas rush at work started today. It was very busy, and throughout the day, various pieces of equipment decided to test my patience with several malfunctions along the way. I get home, Algonquin on my mind, trip-log writing on my mind, and it is only now, that I realize that I’m way-behind, and will not get a chance to post […]
